GOVCP824

2024 (46th) Edition- Alaska: Dixon Entrance to Cape Spencer

US Coast Pilot 8 provides supplemental navigation information for the panhandle section of Alaska between the US/Canadian border and Cape Spencer. It is intended to be used in conjunction with official navigational charts.

The United States Coast Pilot® is a series of nautical books published by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) Office of Coast Survey that cover a variety of information important to navigators of coastal and intracoastal waters and the Great Lakes. Issued in nine volumes, the Coast Pilots contain supplemental information that is difficult to portray on a nautical chart.

Topics include channel descriptions, anchorages, bridge and cable clearances, currents, tide and water levels, prominent features, pilotage, towage, weather, ice conditions, wharf descriptions, dangers, routes, traffic separation schemes, small-craft facilities, and Federal regulations applicable to navigation.

US Coast Pilots are updated on a yearly schedule according to volume, and the current edition may be dated for the previous year. Weekly updates are available to review and print on NOAA's website here.
